An interesting work.
Review: Everything about this novel is interesting, from the plot to the characters to the way it alternates between perspectives. The writing is pretty good. My only comment about the writing quality generally is that it perhaps at times overuses adjectives. A slight culling of adjectives would have left the writing just as descriptive but more impactful. That said, it is still quite pleasant to read. There is also a "Tashokian to English" glossary with notes at the end that is very helpful. Overall, I recommend it!

BeautifulReview: Sometimes, this novella was a touch overwritten, but overall, it was beautifully crafted and deeply moving. The musical theme tied in neatly with the plot, and the descriptions of Bach's compositions were some of the best I have come across, so much so that I couldn't help looking up his Chaconne on YouTube. So while 'Chaconne' may be stylistically a little rough around the edges, it has soul and is worth the read.
